Two 17-year-old boys from Marysville and Tulalip, Washington, are facing adult charges in connection with the violent stabbing of a 14-year-old boy at Lions Park in Everett. The suspects are charged with first-degree assault, robbery, and kidnapping.
Incident Details
The attack happened early on December 17, 2024, after the victim was reportedly lured to the park by a girl he had been chatting with online. Once there, he was ambushed by the two suspects, who are members of rival gangs—the Norteños and the Southside Locos. The victim recognized one of his attackers from school, suggesting they had a prior history.
What Happened
Court documents reveal the victim was held at gunpoint, forced to remove his clothes, and tied to a tree with the clothing. He was stabbed multiple times, and one of the attackers carved the letter “N” into his chest. During the attack, the suspects reportedly taunted the victim and emphasized their gang affiliations.
Despite his injuries, the victim managed to escape and get help at a nearby house. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment and later transferred to Harborview Medical Center due to the severity of his wounds.
Arrests and Charges
The suspects were arrested at their homes soon after the attack. Police found key evidence, including a bloodied sweatshirt and items belonging to the victim, at one of the suspect’s homes.
Both teenagers are being tried as adults because of the violent nature of the crime. Bail for the Marysville suspect is set at $1 million, while the Tulalip suspect’s bail is $300,000. Authorities are considering increasing the amounts due to safety concerns and one suspect’s previous criminal behavior.
